Baleak Baby Ivory

Description

Series of 4 miniatures in 1/10th scale, featuring the life-size monumental sculptures created by Bruno Lehoux and Philippe Gray Lopez since 1992.

Inspired by the graceful movements of large cetaceans, this sculpture is part of a series that reproduces the diving sequence of a humpback whale, its tail fin emerging majestically from the ocean surface before reaching the immensity of the deep blue.

A tribute to the fishermen of yesteryear, who carved sperm whale teeth during periods of calm, and to Moby Dick, the gigantic white sperm whale hero of Hermann Melville’s novel of the same name.
